Hammer Shank Clamp This clamp holds a section of grand shanks very firmly for trimming of shank stubs or final tail work on newly hung hammers, and when removing glue collars on old shanks. Very light weight but extremely rigid, this clamp won't bow apart in the center like the flexy supply house type. This tool protects action centers from damage and allows shanks to be trimmed quickly, section by section, using a thin Japanese saw such as our #10-2410 Fine Cut Saw shown here. Made from 1" aluminum square tubing, 16 1/2" long, and lined with dense neoprene/cork material, both tubes are crowned for even, strong pressure across the section being clamped.
